about

Drakes end was inspired by the artist Nick drake, and this song pays homage to the poet-artist. I was watching a documentary on nick drakes life, and it motivated me to write a song about what i had viewed.
I attempted to express the despair of an artist and how society misses the opportunity to discover people like nick drake.

lyrics

Put the books on the shelf
its were the paperback fell
trying to depart from the show
drink the liquid and kerosene.
the winds of time swept out to sea

that's where i found myself
lying on the floor
lying on the floor
I don't know the colour of the shadow
that brings me down to my knees
i don't know where the time has gone
on the floor with nothing

picked the pedals on the rose
placed them out for the show
looking at my reflection in this haze
all I saw was a shadow of myself high above the ceiling
i don't know where the time has gone
lying on the floor

I don't know the colour of the shadow.
That brings me down to my knees.
i don't know where the time has gone.
On the floor with nothing.

the winds of time swept out to sea
where i found myself
lying on the floor
lying on the floor

I don't know the colour of the shadow.
That brings me down to my knees.
i don't know where the time has gone.
On the floor with nothing.
I don't know the colour of the shadow.
That brings me down to my knees.
i don't know where the time has gone.
On the floor with nothing.
